The USA comedy Psych is known for using plenty of old-school TV references and featuring many guest stars from the ’80s. But now the show is boldly going where it has never gone before because, according to TVGuide, William Shatner is coming to town. 

Captain Kirk, T.J. Hooker and Denny Crane will appear in the upcoming season as Juliet’s dad. Frank is a former con man who Shawn tries to reunite with his daughter, but the hope of one last con may be too strong to resist.

Shatner is coming off his canceled CBS sitcom, $#*! My Dad Says. Psych’s upcoming season 6 will premiere in the fall. Other guest stars scheduled to appear on Psych are the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Kristy Swanson, baseball star Wade Boggs, Lethal Weapon’s Danny Glover, Battlestar Galactica’s Michael Trucco, Brat Packer Molly Ringwald, and Shatner’s Star Trek: Generations co-star Malcolm McDowell.

Shawn: Now, what I’m going to need from you is an article of clothing. Preferably an undergarment.
Juliet: Don’t you usually get that from the victim?
Shawn: I’ve seen it both ways.
